so, I sent the prints out again...i put like 4 stamps on it lol so that should cover it. anyhoo, The mental health awareness contest. The rules are that its has to be art related to mental health. it could be about any mental health disorder. I just ask that it doesnt glorify things such as cutting or suicide. You can use any medium you like be it photography or digital art. Im looking for something that brings awareness to mental illness and also breaks the stigma that surrounds the topic.
Why this idea? I suffer from panic disorder and have manic personality traits. In the beginning I was ashamed of myself but then I eventually realized it was something to not be ashamed of. many people go through this and sadly suffer alone. the deadline...will be november 15th in memory of my dear cousin derek. winner will have a choice of prize: an art print or a donation to a mental health charity of his/her choice in there name. I hope you will enter this contest :)

Hey i saw the thread about the contest and decided to stalk you! Its a great thing , honestly. I will absolutely participate and i hope many people will find the significance of it. I rly dont see it as a contest , its a motivation to create a piece about a very sensitive matter , a chance to try and bring some minimum comfort to people who need it. I suggest u host this on DA aswell. If you already do please give me the link so i can feature it on my journal!

I just sent out a hefty letter with 3 slightly outdated stamps... like you, hoping it gets there the first time.
Sounds like a tough contest, especially for those of us battling mental disorders, but I imagine it will at least be a decent competition. Hopefully some of the artists here will man (or woman) up, and make the effort.
You could request any submissions that go through the Art portal (or personally posted on NG) have a tag on it, like CQ2013 or something....
